But again, the only thing Yu has to notice that something is weird is V'kebbe's voice and Cuddles' eyes trying to express some kind of concern. Speaking of voice...it's starts to crack a little, like she's holding back something emotionally.]

'cause ye don't like me! All ye see is ears an' tail! I wanna to be close like Phil an' me are with ye but I don't think you want it!

[That certainly isn't anger and Yu can tell when she starts sobbing like a young child, including the overexerted crying that could be seen in cartoons. The poor tonberry is trying to /soothe her by moving his flippers up and down but it doesn't look like it's helping much.]

...what?

[He wasn't awake enough for this conversation, and a hand went to his face, rubbing at his eyes to try and help him focus.]

Your ears and tail are cute, but they're not all there is to you. Of course I like you for the smart, daring person that you are.

[Really, the ears and tail were a bonus. And the fact that she could purr was an extra bonus.]

[You answered Yu. Now you deal with it.]

Ye don't show it.

[Nope still crying.]

Of course I show it; what else would you call the affection I've shown you?

[He knew it was probably useless trying to reason with a drunk. Still, he let out a faint sigh.]

I guess that's not fair to say... I have trouble figuring out how to talk to you at times.

[It'll be the most truthful she has ever been with him. Well, except the one thought of wishing she never came across his path that one night that made her change her mind on him.]

Ain't ye ever thought to just ask me things? Anything at all just to try an' get to know me? Besides, it's hard to get anything out o' you...

[Other than Loki and cats.]

[Yu paused a moment, letting out a breath.]

...even with my friends back home, I'm quiet. I'm... not used to speaking much. Or having friends.

I'm th' same way.

[The crying slowed to the point of just sniffles.]

But even here I made some kind o' mates. Ye've seen me an' Phil, how we act around each other. Just get to know me. I wanna do th' same with you.

I'm sorry.

[Yu's voice was soft at that, a faint smile coming to his face.]

Let's do something, out in the city. Just... when you're sober. And it's not three in the morning.

...I'd like that.

[HICCUP. No, bad kitty. Go to bed.]

Go on; go to bed. I'll treat you to coffee tomorrow morning.

[He had a feeling she'd need it.]

Can't sleep.

[And coffee does not work on her. Phil tried. But he will get a humorous image of Cuddles behind her with what looks like a cooking mallet. Can he hit her?]

[...hunh. Maybe if he kept her distracted, Cuddles will knock her out. It wouldn't be very restful, but it might help a little.]

Do you want to talk more then; tell me about this guy you're in love with?

[What is that? Can you eat it?]

...when did I say love? Don't remember that part.

[She honestly doesn't know what that feeling is so her question is kind of legit.]

[...well, he got her attention.]

That sounded like a love confession to me.

I ain't got an inkling o' what love is. Do I look like th' type?

[She doesn't.]

[Yu paused a moment, considering.]

V-chan, explaining what love is isn't something that can really be done. It's not something really told, more like felt.

Um... you know it when you encounter it, I suppose.

[Not helpful Yu. Before she could retort, Cuddles decided to swing and accidentally hit her tail instead of her head.]

Oi! Godsdamned tonberry! Didn't hear what he said!

[Get over here Cuddles she'll show you the Drunken Hitting style of that mallet.]

[Crap. Well... not his fault Cuddles' accuracy wasn't the best.]

[He's just going to... quietly cut the conversation off there...]

[ Despite a few displacements all around Lilith's, Loki still has a few things delivered to Yu's room. One is an invitation for an outing. Casual, but also implies that it's a date this coming Saturday. The card is simply, yet still decorative and always with a touch of green. He'll never deny having his own preferred color scheme.

The second portion of the gift is a white box with a green ribbon. Inside are chocolates. They actually look pretty good considering who made them, but when he actually tries his skill can transfer over to baking.

Beside them are bite-sized chocolates with generally the same flavouring but with something only Loki would put in them; red velvet cake. His favorite happened to mix very well with Yu's. ]

[ Did he...?! ]

[ Yu was practically flailing in real life, not to mention what he was doing internally. Loki didn't just remember, he went beyond remembering. He did more than he would have expected, more than he was fairly sure even he would have done as "the boyfriend" in their relationship. ]

[ After a moment, Yu literally kicked his feet up onto his desk, Fenrir jumping up to bat at them as he sampled the chocolate cups first, letting out a happy sigh as the smooth taste practically melted in his mouth. It was wonderful... ]

[ Of course, when he got to trying the bit-sized ones, he had to share the rewards. He was sure to snap a quick picture of him giving his phone the best seductive look he could manage, with the chocolate half in his mouth. ]

[ New wallpaper for Loki's phone? ]

[ Definitely a new wallpaper. He meant to deliver them in person, but as selling an apartment goes quite a bit of his free time has been funneled into paperwork.

As if it needs to be anymore obvious who he's texting, his casual smile says a lot. ]

I only get one picture for two gifts and an invitation?

[ By all means, distract him with more. He'd rather not listen to a newly wed couple prattle on about how much they like the location and they're sure they want to buy. ]

[ More than one picture, hmmm... ]

[ The next picture Loki got, Yu had taken his shirt off and leaned back in his chair, his arm extended to take the picture as his tongue flirted with one of the raspberry chocolate cups. ]

[ ...on the desk just behind him, however, was a certain swishy tailed doom, looking like he was going to pounce any second... ]

[ Yu is laughably bad at this. A few seconds later: ]

You've got a monster trying to attack you in the background.

[ then: ]

I'll give you effort points for trying.

[ The response from Yu is a long time in coming, to the point where it almost seems like he's miffed that Loki mocked him at that last part. Finally, a picture of Yu face planted in the carpet with Fenrir on top of him arrived. Fenrir looked quite pleased with himself, and was still trying to lick off the raspberry juice from his face. ]

Too late. Cat attacked.
(Don't worry he didn't get the chocolate.)

I'm not worried about the chocolate. Clearly someone else thinks it is for them.

[ Fenrir is adorable and definitely shouldn't be eating chocolate at all. How Yu managed to get one up'ed by a cat Loki will never understand. ]

I'm starting to think Fenrir is the owner and you're the pet.
